Have you or a loved one been affected by indigestion or ulcers? Your input is needed on a review considering proton pump inhibitors for people who use pain and inflammation medications.
Skills / interests: Consumer (public, patient, carer) input
Would you be interested in helping us with this article focused on proton pump inhibitors (medications that help reduce acid production in the stomach) for people with drug-induced indigestion and ulcers?
I am looking for a consumer who would be willing to peer review this Cochrane systematic review “Proton pump inhibitors for the prevention of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug-induced ulcers and dyspepsia.”
Cochrane considers a consumer to be a person with experience of the condition (in this case, indigestion and/or ulcers from regular use of pain and inflammation medications), either as a patient or as a carer/family member of a patient. From a consumer perspective, we are interested if the language of the review, especially the language used in the Plain Language Summary, is accessible and if it feels relevant for those experiencing indigestion and/or ulcers, such that it will be helpful to patients and carers with healthcare decision making.
While you are welcome to provide feedback on any aspect of the review, you can focus your attention on the summary sections. Our aim is for this to be a manageable task, that does not overburden consumer reviewers.
Thank you in advance for considering!
