We are currently undertaking a scoping review evaluating the current/previous methodology that has been used to develop diagnostic criteria for conditions that lack objective tests, biomarkers or reference standards.

The rationale for this study is that there are many conditions for which objective tests, biomarkers or reference standards to guide diagnosis are simply not available (eg fibromyalgia, post-COVID syndrome, foetal alcohol spectrum disorder).  There is currently no methodological guidance available to inform the approach to developing diagnostic criteria for these types of conditions.

We are calling for individuals interested in assisting with screening studies (title/abstract and full-text) using the Covidence platform. Ideal candidates will have had previous experience performing screening/data extraction for reviews. Upon satisfactorily meeting authorship criteria, individuals will become listed authors on the publication.
