Eyes & Vision

Do you or someone you know have glaucoma? Could you give feedback on a review that looks at factors that affect fast or slow progression of glaucoma?

Skills / interests: Consumer (public, patient, carer) input

Would you be interested in helping us with this article, which looks at factors that affect the fast or slow progression of glaucoma? Glaucoma is a condition linked to high eye pressure and nerve damage in the back of the eye that can lead to blindness.

I am looking for someone who has glaucoma who would be willing to peer review this Cochrane systematic review “Prognostic factors for predicting progression of open angle glaucoma in adults".

Cochrane considers a consumer to be a person with experience of the condition (in this case, glaucoma), either as a patient or as a carer/family member of a patient. From a consumer perspective, we are interested if the language of the review, especially the language used in the Plain Language Summary, is accessible and if it feels relevant for those experiencing glaucoma, such that it will be helpful to patients and carers with healthcare decision making.

While you are welcome to provide feedback on any aspect of the review, you can focus your attention on the summary sections. Our aim is for this to be a manageable task, that does not overburden consumer reviewers.

Thank you in advance for considering!
