I am seeking enthusiastic collaborators, including a mentor and two researchers, to join me in conducting systematic reviews focused on prenatal substance use and addiction among youth. This initiative is independent and not affiliated with any university or organization—it’s driven by a shared passion for advancing knowledge in addiction research and publishing impactful work in peer-reviewed journals.
Ideal applicant
Mentor:
An experienced researcher or academic with expertise in systematic reviews, addiction, public health, or related fields.
Strong knowledge of systematic review methodologies (e.g., PRISMA, Cochrane guidelines) and tools like GRADE, Covidence, or Rayyan.
Able to provide guidance on study design, evidence synthesis, and manuscript preparation.
Willing to support a collaborative and learning-focused environment for the team.
Collaborators (Researchers)
Background: Medical students, psychology students, early-career researchers, or professionals with an interest in addiction, public health, or systematic reviews.
Skills: Prior experience with evidence searching, screening studies, and data extraction is a plus but not mandatory. Enthusiasm for learning and contributing is the most important quality!
Interests: Topics related to prenatal substance use, youth addiction, and interventions to address these issues.
Commitment: Flexible availability to meet project deadlines with virtual or in-person collaboration and regular check-ins.
Based in Australia. Remote candidates also be considered.

Hi Nethmini, I am interested in working on this review with you. I had taken the Cochrane review training course this last November and am currently in a class to conduct a rapid systematic review and meta-analysis. My passion is in chronic pain in women - and this particular topic you are interested in appears to somewhat align.
