Did you or someone you know well experience receiving care in a hospital setting where nurses took on roles typically performed by physicians? Your input is needed on a review considering the substitution of nurses for physicians for people receiving inpatient hospital care.

Skills / interests: Patient and public input

Would you be interested in helping us with this article focused on the substitution of nurses for physicians in the hospital setting for people receiving inpatient care?

I am looking for a consumer who would be willing to peer review this Cochrane systematic review: “Substitution of nurses for physicians in the hospital setting for patient, process of care, and economic outcomes”.

Cochrane defines a consumer as someone with experience of the healthcare setting being studied (in this case, hospital-based care) either as a patient or as a carer/family member of a patient. From a consumer perspective, we are particularly interested in whether the language of the review, especially in the Plain Language Summary, is clear and accessible, and whether it feels relevant to those who have experienced hospital care, so that it can support informed decision-making for patients and carers.

While you are welcome to provide feedback on any aspect of the review, you may focus your attention on the summary sections. Our goal is to keep the task manageable and respectful of your time as a consumer reviewer.

Thank you in advance for considering!
