Have you or someone you know well been affected by sepsis (serious reaction to an infection) in a newborn infant? Your input is needed on a review considering antiseptics (antimicrobials substances applied to the skin) applied to the umbilical cord stump for preventing sepsis in newborn infants.
Skills / interests: Patient and public input
Would you be interested in helping us with this article focused on antiseptics (antimicrobials substances applied to the skin) applied to the umbilical cord stump for preventing sepsis in newborn infants?
I am looking for a consumer who would be willing to peer review this Cochrane systematic review “Umbilical cord antiseptics for preventing sepsis and death among newborns.”
Cochrane considers a consumer to be a patient, a carer/family member of a patient or a member of the public with an interest in the topic. From a consumer perspective, we are interested if the language of the review, especially the language used in the Plain Language Summary, is accessible and if it feels relevant for those affected by sepsis in a newborn infant, such that it will be helpful to patients and carers with healthcare decision making.
While you are welcome to provide feedback on any aspect of the review, you can focus your attention on the summary sections. Our aim is for this to be a manageable task, that does not overburden consumer reviewers.
Thank you in advance for considering!
