The National Medical Research Association (NMRA) is inviting motivated researchers, clinicians, and students to collaborate on high-impact systematic reviews, meta-analyses (SRMA), and clinical guideline development. Other projects can be explored if appropriate. Our services are completely free as we are a not-for-profit research organisation aiming to enable young career scientists to conduct high-quality independent research and make an impact.

We especially welcome researchers who wish to pitch their own project ideas. The NMRA team can provide full support across all stages of the project lifecycle, including:

• methodological guidance (protocol development, registration, appraisal)

• search strategy design and data extraction support

• statistical analysis and evidence synthesis

• manuscript writing, editing and submission

• access to funds for journal publication fees

Bespoke support will be discussed with the researcher on a case-by-case basis. 

Whether you are an experienced researcher or looking to develop expertise in evidence synthesis, NMRA offers a collaborative, supportive environment to help you deliver rigorous and publishable work.

In your email please include details of your previous experience (with examples and CV), proposed areas of reserach, and a complete proposal if applicable. Detailed projects and experienced researchers will be given preference. All successful applicants will agree to adhere to strict project deadlines, and failure to do so will result in removal from NMRA research works.

Ideal applicant

We are looking for motivated individuals with a genuine interest in evidence-based medicine, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, or clinical guideline development. The ideal applicant will have: • A strong interest in research – enthusiasm matters more than prior experience. • Good communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively in a structured research environment. • Reliability and responsiveness, with the ability to meet agreed timelines. • Basic understanding of scientific literature (e.g., how to read journal articles, understand study designs). • Optional but beneficial: prior experience with systematic reviews, statistics, or academic writing. Location Requirements Remote participation is fully supported. Applicants can be based anywhere in the world. All collaboration occurs online. Time Commitment We offer flexible involvement: • No full-time commitment required. • Applicants can work at their own pace and contribute as time allows. • Most teams hold occasional virtual meetings (usually monthly or bi-monthly), scheduled around members’ availability. • Projects generally take weeks to months depending on complexity. Qualifications Must-have: • Ability to read and synthesise scientific literature • Motivation to learn and follow standardised methodology (we will train you) Desirable but not required: • Experience with systematic reviews, meta-analysis, PRISMA, GRADE, or guideline development • Skills in data extraction or statistical analysis • Background in medicine, healthcare, life sciences, or related fields • Prior academic writing or publication experience What We Provide • Full methodological support • Training and mentoring • Writing assistance at all stages • Access to journal publication funding • A supportive, international research community
