Systematic review protocol investigating the diagnostic accuracy of transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS) using MUSA criteria for the detection of adenomyosis.
This work is being developed as part of an MSc Medical Ultrasound dissertation (University of Cumbria), with the explicit intention of producing a publication-quality systematic review. The aim is to submit the completed review to a peer-reviewed journal in women’s health imaging, with potential alignment to Cochrane methodological standards where appropriate.
The review will follow established guidance for diagnostic test accuracy (DTA) reviews, including QUADAS-2 for risk of bias and hierarchical modelling approaches for meta-analysis.
Collaboration is sought to support rigorous study selection, data extraction, and methodological quality.
