Project Overview - This systematic review aims to map and synthesize evidence on the effectiveness of integrating indigenous health knowledge into formal health systems in Sub-Saharan Africa. The review is grounded in the Integrated Cultural Health System (ICHS) framework, an original six-pillar conceptual model developed through clinical observation and community health research in Kenya, proposing a structured pathway for indigenous knowledge integration into primary healthcare.
What help is needed?
I am seeking one or two co-authors to collaborate on the following:
- Search Strategy: Refining Boolean search strings across PubMed, CINAHL, Embase, and African Journals Online (AJOL)
- Screening: Title/abstract and full-text screening using Rayyan or Covidence
- Data Extraction & Synthesis: Designing the extraction form and conducting narrative/mixed-methods synthesis
- Manuscript Development: Collaborating on Methods, Results, and Discussion sections
Publication Plan
This is an independent academic project with no institutional funding. Target journals include BMC Health Services Research, Health Policy and Planning, or Global Health: Science and Practice. Authorship will be offered to active contributors following ICMJE criteria.
